0-19 Week Update

And every afternoon & evening!
So, if you didn't hear yet, I'm pregnant...again.  Everyone always asks if it was planned, and while this one wasn't (because the last one definitely wasn't either), I've realized that most of us wouldn't be here if everyone planned their pregnancies.  Life is much too chaotic to plan.
Mason and I found out I was pregnant again in early August.  Being the cheap thrifty person I am, I decided to buy the equate brand of pregnancy test.  We then spent all night debating if it was a legit test, negative or a false positive.  There were high fives all around when we thought it was negative, and then we read the directions.  A few days later we decided to buy a simple (more expensive -- you know, $5 instead of $1.50) pregnancy test that told us "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant."  Well, I peed on the stick and then we avoided the bathroom like the plague for the rest of the night.  Mason was the first to see it and I can't say I remember his reaction, maybe because there wasn't much of one.  That's not to say we're not excited now, but when you have a very "strong willed" child who has yet to turn 1, even thinking about having another one is well, daunting.
We decided to keep the news on the downlow, surprisingly not telling very many people until AFTER the wedding on September 25.  And yes, my dress was getting to be a bit tight.  Poor Drew & Kensie struggled getting me zipped up.  We then decided to wait until after I went to my first midwife appointment to make sure everything was fine before we really told everyone.  On a side note -- messing up cupcakes to tell everyone you're pregnant, while pregnant, is hell.  I just dropped onto the dining room floor trying not to cry since I just messed up half my cupcakes.
Week 17
This pregnancy is so much different from the last, I've been miserably sick most of the time, my pubic bone is already killing me and I showed earlier, despite the lack of change in the scale (YAY!)  I've been sucking down tea (nettles, alfalfa, peppermint & red raspberry leaf) like crazy and eating non stop to try to keep the queasiness at bay.  I also didn't really show until week 16 this time, a few weeks earlier than last time but now that I look back, it wasn't even much.  With it being so different from last time we're really hoping for a boy, perhaps that's why we've decided to turn down an ultrasound, because we don't want to be disappointed.  A girl would be great too (thrifty me!) as we already have everything from Logan!  And they could share a room for awhile, which means we can stay in our cute little duplex for a few more years.
Week 19 -- Crappy image, sorry :)
We've also found an amazing midwife to attend our birth at home and I'm so excited.  When you're going to school to become a midwife, you have so many more connections to find a good midwife.  I found Chris through school and talking to other student midwives.  She's one of those amazing people that walks into the room and she is just permanently glowing.  The first time I met her, she had been up for a birth all night, was obviously exhausted and all she could think about was offending me with her coffee breath.  I adore her.  She has so much experience and is everything a midwife should be.  I wish I had found her the first time, my experience would've been so much different.
I'm due on April 8/9 (but we all know due dates are guesses, probably why I've ended up with so many different answers!) but I'm really hoping I go about the same time (38w5d) with this one as I did with Logan, that puts me near Mason's birthday which would be the best birthday present ever (well besides Wrestlemania, also on his birthday this next year.)  We've also picked out names but have decided not to share them, as people tend to steal names.  Yes, steal.  I get very annoyed when I spend so much time thinking over names, testing them out in my head and out loud, and then someone else just uses them.  It's frustrating.  You don't want your kid to be one of the 5 Sarah's in her class right?  I think it's a legitimate concern, so we're keeping it a secret until then.
So, that should keep everyone up to date so far.  Nothing too exciting yet, but not too boring either.
